David Berryman

Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer

David Berryman was born in Fremont, Ohio and spent his early years there, until he and his family moved to Memphis over 40 years ago. He is the son of the late Lamar Berryman of Fremont, Ohio and the late Joyce Berryman of Horn Lake, Mississippi. He is a graduate of Whitehaven High School in Memphis, and a 1985 graduate of Northwest Mississippi Junior College in Southaven, Mississippi, where he studied funeral service education. David became a licensed funeral director in 1986 and a licensed embalmer in 1991. His experience in the funeral industry began at Memphis Funeral Home and over his career he has worked for Forest Hill Funeral Home and Munford Funeral Home, before finally co-founding Covington Funeral Home in 2002. David has called Covington his home for more than 20 years, and is a member of the Clopton United Methodist Church in Brighton, where he sings in the choir. When he’s not working as your friendly neighborhood funeral director, he can be found at Riverside Speedway in West Memphis, Arkansas, enjoying the dirt track races and serving as the Racers for Christ Chaplain on Saturday nights.
