William Michael “Mike” Turner, 58, of Covington, passed away on December 23, 2023. Mike was born to William Ted and Carolyn Turner in Union City on February 6, 1965. He became a member of First United Methodist Church of Covington on September 26, 1976, and was a 1983 graduate of Covington High School. He was a loving husband, son, brother, father, uncle, grandpa, and role model to many, including numerous coworkers during his 39 years of dedicated employment at Chris-Hill Construction in Memphis. Mike was a huge Tennessee fan, loved to hunt and fish, coach and watch his kids and grandkids play sports, and to hold his infant granddaughter.
He is survived by his wife, Jodi Turner; parents, William Ted and Carolyn Turner; his brother, Charles Turner; one daughter, Holli (Eric) Ray; two sons, Will (Kate) Turner and Allan Turner; one nephew, Josh Turner; three grandchildren, Cameron and Cayden Ray and Addison Turner, and a huge amount of close friends and family that knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Roy W. and Mildred Turner, Rev. Willis T. Wrenn and Carrie Mae Wrenn, Nannie Lear Wrenn (Step-Grandmother), and his mother-in-law, Rebecca Lomber.
Visitation for Mike Turner will be held from 12:30p.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 30, with the funeral service to begin at 3p.m., all at Covington First United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Covington Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Covington First United Methodist Church or to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
