William Clarence "W. C." , "Uncle Dub", Marbry, 93, of Brighton, passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, July 7, 2024.
He was born to the late Viola Benson and Mancefield Marbry in Tipton, TN.
W. C. was born May 14, 1931 in Tipton County. He spent his early years working on the family farm harvesting crops. He met his wife, Sara, in his early twenties and they were married in October of 1954. He spent his years working as a carpenter, providing for his family, and being a wonderful Daddy to his children.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Sara Gladney Marbry, his parents and six brothers.
W. C. is survived by seven children, Doug (Cindy) Marbry of Brighton, Debra (Johnny) Gardner of Munford, Neal (Sherie) Marbry of Memphis, Kathy (John) Elam of Brighton, Lewis (Dan) Marbry of Memphis, James Marbry of Munford and Brian (Gina) Lavelle of Bartlett. He took pride in his grandchildren; they were the light of his world. He is survived by 20 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 13 at the Covington Funeral Home chapel with interment to follow in the Salem ARP Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, July 12 at the funeral home.
