William "Bill" Jenner

William Albert "Bill" Jenner (AD-1 USN, Retired), was called to be with his Savior at the age of 73 on Friday, June 26. Bill is the loving husband of 52 years to Cheryle Jenner; cherished son of the late Alphonsus and Augusta Jenner; devoted father of William Shane (Michele) Jenner and Tara Cherrene McClelland; most beloved grandfather (Paw-Paw) of Tamara Cherrene McClelland; dearest brother of Carol Craig; dear brother-in-law of Chris Sanville; loving uncle, great uncle, great-great uncle; cousin; and friend to many. Bill very proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Navy for 26 years and is a Veteran of the Vietnam War. After he retired from the Navy, he became a licensed HVAC Technician until his retirement at age 65. He was a handyman who could fix anything, enjoyed working on his coin and stamp collections, putting jigsaw puzzles together, following his favorite driver, Rickey Stenhouse Jr, race in the NASCAR circuit, watching the St. Louis Cardinals, and enjoying John Wayne movies. His favorite pastime was spending time with his devoted family and was especially proud of the academic accomplishments of his granddaughter, Tamara McClelland. Bill attended Clopton United Methodist Church and enjoyed the "Young at Heart" group within. Bill was a member of Fleet Reserve Association Branch 181; Veterans of Foreign War Post 7175; and American Legion Post 67. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Funeral services for Bill Jenner will be held Wednesday, July 1 at 7 p.m. at the Covington Funeral Home chapel. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service on Wednesday.
