Wanda Lee Pruitt, age 60, passed away at her home in Gates on Tuesday, January 9, 2024. She was a mother, sister, “Mawmaw,” homemaker, and friend. She loved to spend time with her family, and enjoyed watching her cowboy shows. In her spare time, she crocheted baby blankets for friends, family, and strangers, too. It didn’t matter who they belonged to, Wanda just loved babies! She was a firecracker, tiny but mighty.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Toni Pruitt of Ripley; her step-son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Stacey Pruitt, and her step-son Chris Pruitt, all of Covington; her sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Dan Chipps, of Gates; eight grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; her very special nieces and nephew, Jessica Baskin, Bridgett Stafford, Kaleigh Sanders and Able Reign Baskin, and countless other family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Danny Pruitt; her son, Dustin Pruitt; her parents, Leonard and Elizabeth Cross Hinson; and her sister, Pam Baskin.
Services for Ms. Wanda will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2024 at Covington Funeral Home. Visitation for family and friends will begin at 1pm, with the service to begin at 3pm. Interment will follow in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery. Pastor Terry Hunt will officiate the services, and Dan Chipps, Danny Fleming, Bill Ferrell, Chris Gibson, Andrew Brasch, and Brandon Baskin will be serving as pallbearers.
