Walter Clayton Higgins, 70, of Brighton, passed away on Friday, February 22. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, February 26 at the Covington Funeral Home with interment to follow in Covington Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. He was a self-employed general contractor, a former supervisor with the Town of Brighton Dept of Public Works and a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He is survived by one son, Jeff (Hannah) Higgins of Brighton; one sister, Dorothy (Norman) Anderson of Brighton; five grandchildren, Taylor (Brandon) Anderson, Tucker Higgins, Grady Higgins, Lillian Higgins and Farris Higgins and two daughters-in-law, Alisa Higgins Pounders of Oakland and Rachel Higgins of Atoka. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy Higgins, two sons, Brian Higgins and Chad Higgins; one brother, Leonard Higgins; one sister, Shelby Jean Saemenes and his parents, Walter and Dorethia Gray Higgins.
