W. Gale Ralph

W. Gale Ralph, 79, of Covington, passed away on Saturday August 5, 2023 at Baptist Hospital Tipton. Gale was a retired farmer, bull rider, storyteller, traveler, truck driver, and card game enthusiast. He was an independent, fearless fighter who loved plaid shirts, driving cars in reverse, making women smile with a wink, poker games and trick pool shots, standing up for himself for better or worse and, of course, finding out what was really going on.

He is survived by two daughters, Dr. Rachael Love-Brown (Kirk) and Andrea Edmonds Cook, and possibly more we have yet to meet. Two sisters, Patricia Butler (Dolph) and Ellen Newman (Carl); one brother, Roger Ralph (Donna); his favorite ex-wife, Daphne Duke Vescovo; grandchild Ruby Brown as well as a host of nieces and nephews.   He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert "Cotton Top" and Mary Mason Ralph; three brothers, Kem Ralph, Allen Ralph and Wayne Ralph and one sister, Florence Fee. 

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 12 at the Covington Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please give memorial tips to Ms. Mesha, his long-time waitress at Pappy & Jimmies.
