Verble Ballard, 74, of Henning, passed away on Monday, June 17 at his home. Mr. Ballard was a U. S. Marine Veteran of the Vietnam War and retired self employed utility contractor. Verble was an avid coon hunter and outdoorsman.
He is survived by his beloved German Shepherd dog, Rebel, who was a loyal and devoted companion, best friend, and caregiver for the last 9 years; his son, Chad Ballard of Covington; one granddaughter, Destine Nichole Ballard of Medon, TN and one sister, Brenda Wakefield of Bartlett. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert Verble and Inez Lee Ferrell Ballard and one daughter, Natalie Suzanne Ballard.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 6 at the Covington Funeral Home chapel with interment to follow in Randolph Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Randolph Cemetery in Mr. Verble's honor.
