Timothy Adkison, age 48, of Munford, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Tim attended Brighton First Assembly of God. He worked as a warehouse manager for Fred Jones Manufacturing Company, until the closing of their New Orleans location, in the aftermath and devastation of hurricane Katrina. For the last 15 of his working years, Mr. Tim honed his carpentry skills and worked alongside his cousin as a cabinet builder for Custom Creations. Tim was incredibly generous with his talent, and enjoyed building things for other people, such as cabinets for his wife, shelving for his girls, and even a dresser when his brother and sister-in-law were expecting a new baby. He took care of his family, and loved them dearly. He was so proud of his daughters, and their babies. Whenever they needed him, he was there, traveling hundreds of miles, and even by airplane once. Tim didn’t care too much for amusement parks and thrill rides, but he loved the smiles and laughter from Stacey and the girls, so he took on the role of purse holder any time they wanted to free-fall or loop-the-loop. Mr. Tim had a passion for football. At one point, his living room was painted orange and white in honor of his favorite college team, the Tennessee Vols. A proud supporter of his local team as well, when his girls were in school he would go to the Munford Cougars games to cheer on the team and the marching band. When his health declined and he wasn’t able to attend, he started taping the local tv station so he could re-watch the games. He is survived by his wife, Stacey Volner Adkison; two daughters, Ashley (Kyle) Shackelford, of Atoka, and Haley (Ryan) Bailey, of Fort Campbell, KY; two grandchildren, Ryker Bailey and Luna Shackelford; his mother, Ruth Ann Craig Adkison; three siblings, Sheila (Gerald) Burnett, of Munford, Betty (Jeff) Free, of Munford, and David (Kim) Adkison, of Lakeland; 11 nieces and nephews, one great-nephew, and a host of other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Reverend Leonard Wayne Adkison. Funeral services for Tim Adkison will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at the Covington Funeral Home chapel. Visitation for friends and family will be held from 10:00 a.m. until noon, with the service to begin at noon. Reverend Keithel Boothe will officiate the services. Interment will follow in Helen Crigger Cemetery in Munford, Tennessee.
