Therman Wayne Garrison

Therman Wayne Garrison, 87, of Covington, passed away on Saturday, July 15 at Baptist Hospital Memphis. Wayne worked many jobs over the years, from dirtwork to aeronautic instruments, inspector at Firestone, to Fisco, where he sold farm and industrial supplies. He also served in the U. S. Army from 1958-1960, being stationed in Germany. Wayne was known for his love of antique cars, family, church and his love of serving God. He was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church and took great pleasure in helping others whenever and however he could. He was involved with the Gideons and took part in lay revivals where he would speak and share the Good News of Jesus. If he met you, he was going to ask you if you knew Jesus! He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty Garrison; two children, Matt (Karen) Garrison and Lea Ann (Walter) Pinner; one grandchild, Taylor (Ryan) Stewart; two great grandchildren, Liam Weston Stewart and Adaline Blake Stewart; one sister, Minnie Lee Mitchell and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Jackson and Hattie Lola Mayhew Garrison and one brother, Darrell Garrison. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, July 22 at the Covington Funeral Home chapel with interment to follow in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
