Tammy McCulley

Tammy Lynn McCulley, age 61, passed away on Friday, September 22, 2023 at her home in Covington surrounded by her loving family and friends.  She was born in Memphis on February 11, 1962.  Ms. McCulley was a homemaker, and a former employee of Cadillac Curtain Company and Save-A-Lot in Covington.  At 4’11”, Tammy was a force to be reckoned with.  She was scrappy and stubborn, and loved to speak her mind, but she had a heart of gold, and was the most generous soul you could ever know.  She loved talking to people and being social, and had the best sense of humor, always making others laugh.  You never had to wonder what Ms. Tammy thought about you…if she liked you, she loved you fiercely!  

She is survived by her children, Robert Randy Roach (Sonya) of Brighton, Brandon Scott Chesney (Shannon) of Brighton, and Riley Anthony Poole (Keisha) of Burlison; her mother, Merriam Kocur of Millington; her dog, Sissy; her step-father, Edward Kocur, of Brighton; six siblings, Kathy Cranford, of Brighton, Tracy Rooks (Brian) of Port Angeles, Washington, Susie Forrester (Louis) and Carla Coy (Sam), both of Covington, Raymond Glenn McCulley of Millington, and William “Bubba” Isome (Brandy,) of Buchanan, Tennessee; four grandsons, Randy Roach, III, Jordan Chesney, Dominic Chesney, and Gavin Chesney; one great-granddaughter, Adelynn Roach; six nephews; four nieces; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews, and her best friend, Linda Robinson, of Covington, as well as her cousin and caretaker, Denise McCulley, whom she loved very much.  She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond McCulley, and her grandparents, Dale and Minnie Burns, and William and Annie Mae McCulley.

Funeral services for Ms. Tammy McCulley will be held at 3pm on Monday, September 25, in the Covington Funeral Home chapel.  Interment will follow in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery.  Visitation for friends and family will be held at the funeral home from 1pm until 3pm on Monday, prior to the service.
