Sylvia Jean Poole, 80, of Covington, passed away on Friday, April 29. She worked for several manufacturing companies in Covington and retired from the CIAA School Cafeteria. A member of the Liberty Baptist Church, she was a loving Christian that never met a stranger. She always brought joy and laughter to a room. She loved life, family and friends will all her heart. She will be missed by many. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Robert "Bobby" Poole; two sons, Kenneth Lemley of Covington and Mike (Tina) Lemley of Brighton; one daughter, Donna (Scotty) Wilson of Millington; one sister, Joyce Maharrey of Covington; one brother, Eulice Ray of Bandbridge, GA; 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Allen Noble and Ellie Ray; two children, Betty Honeycutt and Larry Poole; one sister, Betty Jo Manley and one brother, Lester Ray. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Monday, May 2 at the Covington Funeral Home chapel with interment to follow in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m. on Monday and will continue until service time at 12 noon.
