Stevens "Stevie" Ray Hazlerig entered the world on July 22, 1986, a beautiful, eagerly awaited, seemingly healthy baby boy. A few days later, he was diagnosed with tuberous sclerosis, an insidious disease that affects the vital organs of the body and robs its victims of their full potential. Stevie suffered and survived many adversities, traumas, and hurts over the course of his life, but his personality always shone through. One of his many doctors commented that if you ever met Stevie Hazlerig, you would always remember him. He had a unique way of expressing himself, and many of his sayings and expressions became "Stevieisms" and were quoted often by those who knew him. Stevie succumbed to his final trauma on April 14, 2022. Those who survive him and cherish his memory are his father, Bret Hazlerig; mother and step-father, Betsy and Chris Williams; brother, Michael Hazlerig; sister, Carlie Williams; nephew, Trevor Hazlerig; niece, Avery Hazlerig; grandparents, Bill and Bonnie Hazlerig; uncle and aunt, Bryan and Marnie Hazlerig; cousin, Mac Hazlerig; cousin, Dean Hollis; and his caregivers, especially Linda Hughes at his group home. Stevie will be laid to rest in Bethlehem Cemetery in Henning, TN, alongside his maternal grandparents, Paul and Edith Stevens. Friends and family will gather for a graveside service at the cemetery on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at 2 p.m.
