Savanah Sue Gunnells, age 20, of Millington, passed away on Tuesday, January 5, 2021. She was born to James Gunnells and Christy Gunnells in Memphis, Tennessee on January 5, 2001. From her birth, she brought her family and friends nothing but joy. Her laugh was unforgettable and infectious, and she had the most beautiful smile. She was a bright and determined young lady. Savanah was a good student and worked hard to graduate from high school a year early in May 2018. Savanah was the best big sister and friend that anyone could have. She was passionate about motherhood and loved her late daughter, Laklynn, dearly. Savanah had a huge heart for people and loved them hard. She leaves behind her mother, Christy Gunnells; her father and step-mother, James and Dee Gunnells; her sister, Jodi Leigh Gunnells; three step-siblings, Johnna Sigler, Chase Raines, and Gavon Bradfield; aunts and uncles, B.J. and Lisa Hale, Rhonda Hale and Kevin Jenkins, Mandy Hale, Regina Gunnells, Pamela Rainwater, Alan Morey; her cousins, Hannah, Parker, Kayla, Courtney, Krystian, Megan, Brooklyn, Charlie, Storm, Sades, Rowan, Gillian, Shelby, Misty, Chase, Kaylee, and Lola; her cat, Mufasa, and numerous other family members and friends who were blessed to have loved and been loved by her.. Savanah was preceded in death by her baby girl, Laklynn Kaye; her grandparents, Bill and Debbie Hale, David and Millie Morey, and her uncle Andy Hale. Services for Savanah Gunnells will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, January 18, at the Covington Funeral Home. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
