Ronnie Edward Wylie

Ronald “Ronnie” Edward Wylie, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at his home in Covington. He loved practical jokes, and even had his own comedy act for a while. When he wasn’t pulling pranks on his family, he was sharing his faith with others, serving as a Baptist minister. Over the years, he pastored many churches in West Tennessee, including Western Valley (1954,) Hornsby (1955-1958,) Eldad (1958-1960,) Mt. Olive (1960-1965,) Zion (1965-1970,) Woodland Mills (1970-1976,) Charleston (1976-1984,) and Southside (1984-1997.) He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Bobbie Strayhorn Wylie, two children, Cheryl and Mark, and his sister, Wilma Walk. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Jacob Wylie, and his parents, Malcolm and Mable Wylie. Funeral services for Mr. Wylie will be held on Friday, April 28, at First Baptist Church of Covington. Visitation for friends and family will be held from 11am until 1pm, with the funeral to begin at 1pm. Interment will follow in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery in Covington.
