Ronnie Frank Tyler, 65, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 10, 2021. When Ronnie’s family thinks of him, they think of loyalty, kindness and, of course, love. Ronnie had a deep love for his family, especially his wife and soulmate of 37 years, Gail Trosper Tyler, and their sons, Matthew Tyler and Brian Tyler. He, of course, expressed his love in the usual ways, but his love could also be seen in the very walls, landscapes and cars around them. Ronnie had an unparalleled craftmanship when it came to taking care of things, which became especially evident after his retirement from General Electric. He and Gail had built a life they loved on Dawson Road in Brighton. Ronnie’s hand was evident in the little touches seen throughout their home. Perhaps the place Ronnie’s love could best be seen was in the “cabin” that he, Gail and Brian had been building. His thoughts especially were on Matthew, Matthew’s wife Jennifer Tyler, and their son, Chris Tyler, who live in Kentucky. Ronnie, who had been born on Jan. 12, 1956, in Decatur County, TN, was predeceased by his parents, Franklin Tyler, who died in 2016, and Betty Rhodes Tyler, who died in 2020. Besides Gail, Brian, Matt, Jenn and Chris, he leaves behind his sisters: Kathy; Phyllis and her husband, Larry; and Tena and her husband, Greg. He also leaves behind his nieces and nephews: Lindsay Day, Nicholas Day (and his wife, Kankana Day); Michael Martin, Madison Martin (and her fiancé Chandler Beard) and Houston Abbott; and Alexa Dayton. Calling hours will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at Covington Funeral Home with a service to follow at 7. Pastor Dustin Kitchens of Central Baptist Church in Brighton will officiate.
