Ronald Keith Johnson, 59, of Covington, died unexpectedly on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at Baptist Hospital East in Memphis. He was born on August 19, 1962 After high school, Ronald joined the Army in 1980. He fought for his country for 22 years. He was proud of America and the freedom he fought for. SFC Ronald Johnson loved to brag that he had the strongest, smartest soldiers in the unit. He loved each one of them as if they were his sons. He loved his Lord Jesus Christ first, his family second and his country next. Ronald is survived by his wife, Debra Johnson; his children, Katie Johnson of Bolivar, Bobby (Sarah) Bucey of Brighton and Christy (Sam) White of Newbern; four beautiful grandchildren, Nadalee Adkerson, Addison Bucey, RidgeLee Bucey and Waylon Cross; his mother, Jean Twisdale; two sisters, Cyndi Johnson and Heather Johnson and his brother, Jeff Johnson. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Johnson. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, November 26 at the Covington Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will follow at Walton Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
