Ricky Dale Kent, 61, entered this world March 28, 1962 and entered the Gates of Heaven on March 22, 2024 to the loving arms of his parents, Van Allen and Helen Kent. No doubt his brothers, Terry Kent and Timothy Kent along with sisters, Gail Ballard and Anita Kent were there to prepare to celebrate his upcoming birthday and homecoming.
Ricky was a talented cabinet maker who had his career cut short at age 36 by a devastating stroke. He fought a courageous battle to overcome his disabilities. He was a talented artist after teaching himself to use his left hand. No one was surprised to see him walking the driveway, walking to town or playing ball in the yard.
The last nine years he made his home in Covington with his brother, Donald (Kana) Kent along with the joys of his life, Sierra and Waylon Kent. He leaves his precious sisters, Barbara Dibenedetto and Debbie (Jimmie) Alexander of Memphis, Aunts, Erma Lipe, Shirley Adams, Carolyn Delaney, Edna Nelms, and Uncles, Jimmy Shelley and James Shelley, all of Tipton County. Ricky also leaves six nephews and three nieces.
The family would like to thank the quick responses from Covington Fire Department, Baptist ambulance service, Baptist Tipton ED team, Life Flight and Baptist Memphis for all they did for Ricky.
