Rachel Elizabeth Smith

Rachel Elizabeth Smith entered the gates of Heaven on May 20, 2024.

She was known by her family and friends as Elizabeth.  She had a great love for her family and loved spending time with them.

Elizabeth was a long-time member of Frayser Baptist Church and currently a member of First Baptist Church – Covington.  She had a great love and passion for children.  She spent many years as the Preschool Director at Frayser Baptist Church and served in the Children’s area at FBC-Covington for several years.  She was extremely gifted in her teaching and leadership abilities in her church’s children and preschool ministries.  Her service for her Lord and Savior spanned more than 60 years.  

Elizabeth had a strong passion for missions and was active in the Baptist Women’s Group both at Frayser Baptist and FBC Covington.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Allen Greer “Jimmy” Smith; a grand-daughter Katilyn Elizabeth Entrekin and her two brothers, William Beasley, and Aaron Beasley.

Elizabeth leaves behind to cherish her memories, a son, Phil (Carla) Smith of Drummonds; a daughter, Peggy (Alan) Entrekin of Covington; a grandson, Scott (Tabitha) Smith of Houston, TX; a grand-daughter, Kari (Will) Cupples of Moyock, NC; a grandson, Kevin Entrekin of Memphis, and great-grandsons, Colin Rattray and Graham and Wyatt Cupples.   She also leaves two bonus grandsons, Jared (Christie) Entrekin and Shane (Annette) Rattray.

She also is survived by brothers, Julius Beasley, Wayne Beasley and a sister, Anne Hensley.

In lieu of flowers any donation may be sent to FBC-Covington for missions.
