Phil Nason, 73, of Atoka, passed away on Thursday, February 8. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 11 at the Covington Funeral Home with interment to follow in Morrison's Memorial Cemetery in Brighton. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Saturday, February 10 at the funeral home. Mr. Nason was a U. S. Marine Corps veteran having served in Vietnam and a retired Captain with the Memphis Police Dept. having served 35 years. He is survived by his wife, Julie Nason; one son, Paul Martin Nason of Atoka; two sisters, Joyce Smith of Brighton and Mary Finch of Lebanon, TN; three brothers, Leonard (Faye) Nason of Covington, Willard (Judy) Nason of Burlison and Skipper (Glenda) Nason of Burlison and one brother-in-law, Danny Whiteaker of Murfreesboro, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Beatrice Nason; two brothers, Bernard (Helen) Nason and Ronald Harvey Nason; two sisters, Judie Whiteaker and Gloria (Don) Dryer and two brothers-in-law, Larry Finch and Shade Smith. The family requests that donations be made to either LeBonheur Childrens Hospital or to Miracle Lake Ministries, 182 County Rd. 498, Etowah, TN 37331.
