Peggy Cox Sires, 81, of Bossier City, LA, formerly of Covington, passed away on Thursday, August 6 after a long battle with illness. Peggy was born on September 17, 1938 in Hardeman County, TN, the daughter to the late George and Dora Cox. Peggy was Ray Sires loving and devoted wife for 32 years. She retired from the Louisiana School board as a teacher's aide and bus driver where she touched countless lives. Peggy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother where she devoted her time to dance recitals and baseball games. She worked at Warwick in Covington before moving to Bossier City 35 years ago to care for her ailing sisters. Peggy is survived by her husband, Ray Sires of Bossier City, LA; sons Daniel Beshires of Covington, James (Jeannie) Beshires of Fayetteville, AR, Tony (Donna) Beshires of Water Valley, MS, and Steve (Tammy) Cook of Brighton; daughter, Angel (Lightfoot) Fay; grandchildren, Josh Beshires, Blake Beshires, Chad Beshires, Emily Cook, Riley Cook, Steven Cook, Carley Cook and Treasure Fay and great grandchildren, Lillian Shea Beshires, Jase James Beshires, Aubree Cook, Frejdyn (Fray'din) Jarrett and Lilu Jarrett. She was also survived by countless nieces, nephews and twice as many friends. She will truly be missed by everyone who knew her. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at the Indian Creek cemetery in Brighton.
