Oren Durham, 88, of Covington, passed away on Friday, May 5 at Baptist Hospital Tipton. Mr. Durham was a retired factory worker having worked at International Harvester as well as Mueller Brass during his career. He was a member of the First Baptist Church Covington and a U. S. Army veteran. He was an avid baseball fan who enjoyed rooting for his favorite team, the New York Yankees and umpiring little league games. In addition to baseball, he enjoyed spending time with his Monday/Friday Fellowship group. He was a beloved father, uncle and brother. He is survived by one son, Terry (Debbie) Durham of Olive Branch, MS; one step-daughter, Leslie (Jason) Huneke of Covington; one sister, Myrtle Pinner of Stanton; one brother, Jerry (Grace) Durham of Covington; six grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Olvie Andrew and Lillian Marie Wylie Durham; his wives, Alice McCullough Durham (D. 2004) and Mary Katherine Burnett Durham (D. 2017); three sisters, Doris Davis, Vashti Durham and Willie Ruth Pinner and one brother, Edward Durham. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9 at the Covington Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in Covington Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
