Norma Jean Benard

Norma Jean Cochran Benard, 64, passed away on Wednesday, May 12, 2021. She was born in Covington, TN, on September 8, 1956, to the late Ruby and Knob Cochran, and was the youngest child of fifteen. Norma Jean was a nurse aid and caregiver to her family. Ms. Norma leaves behind her husband of 44 years, Bobby L. Benard; one son, Jimmy (Tiffany) Cochran; two daughters, Kelly Cochran and Misty Benard; nine grandchildren, Austin, Christopher, Audrey, Clayton, Ashton, Autumn, Colton, Caston, and Erica, who was more like a daughter than a granddaughter to Ms. Norma and Mr. Bobby; three great grandchildren; Nevaeh, Floydrick, and Floriana; one sister, Faye Ross; one brother, Mike (Donna) Cochran; her mother-in-law, Nancy Benard; her sister-in-law, Mary Kelly; her brother-in-law, Richard Benard, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Bobbie Jean Benard; her father-in-law, Bobby O. Benard, and her granddaughter, Shelton (Angel Star.) Cremation Services for Ms. Norma Jean are under the direction of Covington Funeral Home.
