Nina Burk Hernandez-Acevedo

Nina Burk Hernandez-Acevedo, age 36, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 20, 2023. She was a housewife and mother, lover of makeup, flea markets and bargain shopping, and enjoyed dancing and spending time with family. Nina was brave, funny, and not afraid to tell you just what she was thinking. She made an impact in many lives, and will be dearly missed. She leaves her husband, Jesus Alejandro “Alex” Hernandez-Acevedo; her children, Anna, Kaileny, Aiden, Collin, and Karime; her mother and step-father, Denise and Ira Poole; her father, Jimmy Burk; her sister, Katherine Burk; her brother-in-law, Carlos; aunts and uncles, Sheila and Danny Elrod, Sharon and Harold Fryer, Lynn Burk, Paul Burk, and Donna Burk, and countless nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Rev. H. B. and Virginia Gray, and Jig and Louise Burk; her cousin, Kevin Fryer, and her uncle, David Gray. Services for Nina will be held on Saturday, June 3, at Covington Funeral Home. Visitation for friends and family will be from 11am until 12pm, with the funeral to begin at noon. Interment will follow the service in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery. Reverend Chuck Williams will officiate the service.
