Nancy Carolyn Troxel

Nancy Carolyn Troxel--April 22, 1940-December 17, 2023, 83, of Covington, retired from Baptist Hospital Tipton, passed away in her home on Sunday, December 17. She stayed close with God, family and her many close friends.  To some she was a second mom, others a great ear and voice of a sage.  Your calls to her were always answered and never rushed.  You heard what she thought and not what you wanted to hear.  Nancy never cooked a small meal and would be there for everyone no matter distance or relation.  She talked about and missed Dennis every day.  She was happy and lived a life full of love.  Nancy enjoyed spending time outdoors gardening, camping, and boating.  She also loved her pets and enjoyed square dancing.  Mrs. Troxel was a former member of the Eastern Star, Raleigh Chapter #478. 

She is survived by her two daughters, Ronda Dew (Mike) of Ashville, NC and Renea Risner (David) of Nashville; one son, Noel Troxel of Arlington; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Dennis Noel Troxel, to whom she was married for 51 years.

 Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 22 at the Covington Funeral Home chapel with interment to follow in Covington Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 21 with an Eastern Star Service to be held following at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
