Myrna Myers

Myrna Myers, 87, of Covington, passed away on Thursday, August 24 at  Regional One Hospital in Memphis after a brief illness.  

Ms. Myers worked as a telephone operator with South Central Bell in Covington early in her career before working as a bookkeeper. As a bookkeeper, over the years she worked for Dr. Travis Bolton, the Veranda Restaurant, Ideal Cleaners, Irwin's Restaurant and finally with PCS.  

She is survived by one daughter, Lee (Jackie) Delashmit; one son, Andy (Kim) Myers; three grandchildren, Jacob Delashmit, Andi (Kenny) Edwards and Sarah Myers and one great grandchild, Jack Allen Edwards.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell Lee and Sarah Katherine Howard McIntosh; her husband, Billy Myers; one brother, Walter McIntosh and one sister, Ann McIntosh Strong.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 26 at the Covington First United Methodist Church where she was a member.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.  Interment will follow in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery.
