Mitch McClain

William “Mitch” McClain, age 60, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2023 at Methodist North Hospital in Memphis after a brief battle with cancer. He was a fighter, having only been diagnosed three short weeks prior, and working through his illness. Mr. Mitch was a hard-worker who loved to stay busy, and it showed in his dedication to his career as a transportation manager with H. T. Hackney for over 21 years. He was a compassionate, kind, and fun-loving man, and always looked forward to the annual beach trip to Dauphin Island with his family, getting everyone together and having a good time. He was loved by so many and will be missed deeply. He is survived by his wife and partner of 32 ½ years, Lisa McClain; four children, Josh (Kelsea) McClain, Amber (Tommy) Blankenship, Alex McClain, and Bradley McClain; his honorary son, Brandon McClain; his father, William McClain; his brother, Brian (Heather) McClain; his sister-in-law, Tina Flippin McClain, and his beloved black lab, Jade. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jean McPherson McClain, and his brother, Robbie McClain. Remembrance services will be held at 4pm on Thursday, January 26, at Covington Funeral Home. Visitation for friends and family will begin at 2pm, until service time. Cremation is under the direction of Covington Funeral Home.
