Michael Mendoza

Michael Mendoza, 62, of Brighton, died on Friday, December 14 after a long illness.  He was preceded in death by his father, Manuel Mendoza and mother, Lorraine Mendoza.  He is survived by his brother, Ziggy Mendoza; sister-in-law, Diana Mendoza; two children, Michelle O'Guin and Jonathan Geren; six grandchildren, Seth Mynatt, Haley Mynatt, Miles O'Guin, Sarah Phillips, Megyn Phillips and Dylan Geren; four nephews, Chris Hampton, Ricky Mendoza, Shane Mendoza and Zane Mendoza and one niece, Casie Burk.  Michael was a U. S. Army Veteran, an avid New Orleans Saints fan and an avid NASCAR fan. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 22 at the Covington Funeral Home chapel with interment to follow in Poplar Grove Cemetery in Drummonds.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
