Merle Beard

Merle Beard, 76, of Covington, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024.  Mr. Beard was a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a former Planner/Estimator with the Naval Air Station in Millington.

He is survived by his wife, Carol "Sam" Beard; one daughter, Melony (Jeff) Fletcher of Covington; two step-daughters, LeAnne Turner and Tracy Terry, both of Covington; one brother, Glenn (Carla) Beard of Munford; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.  He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Margie Beard; one brother, Rickey Beard; two sisters, Charlotte Jones and Daphne Weir and one granddaughter, Emma Bishop.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, February 12 at the Covington Funeral Home chapel.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service.
