Melva Baskin, 78 of Covington, passed away on Sunday, March 10.
She was a very talented lady, who enjoyed painting and arts and crafts. She loved to restore old things so that they could be used for another couple of generations. She enjoyed every minute that she spent with her grandkids. She did whatever they asked - from painting to playing with tractors in the yard to going to the ball field.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Dale Baskin; her parents John Winford and Stella Adkins and six siblings.
She is survived by her two sons, Kelby Baskin and his wife Pam and Colby Baskin and his wife Laura; three grandsons, Dylan, Kaleb and Franklin Baskin; her only granddaughter, Jan Marie Baskin and one sister Yvonne Bryant.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13 at Magnolia Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13 at the Covington Funeral Home.
