Max C. Gay

Max C. Gay, 85, of Covington, passed away on Saturday, December 7.  Mr. Gay was a retired Mill Superintendent with Gates Lumber Company and a U. S. Army Veteran.  He is survived by one son, Kevin (Tammy) Gay of Covington; one daughter, Kim (Andy) Myers of Covington; one brother, Bobby Gay of Charleston, SC; two sisters, Linnie Lord of Ripley, TN and Brenda Roberts Garling of New Albany, MS; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Kobeck Gay; his parents, Gilbert and Annie May Gay; four brothers, Lavon Gay, Devoe Gay, Richard Gay and Hughes Gay and three sisters, Alcia Baum, Katie Lou Cates and Sarah Mullins Quinley.   Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 10 at the Covington Funeral Home with interment to follow in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery.  The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.  The family requests that any memorials be made to the Tennessee Baptist Children's Home.
