Mary Ann Walton Yates

Mary Ann Walton Yates, 93, of Burlison, passed away on Wednesday, June 15 at her home. Ms. Yates was former factory worker at Charms and a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Mary Jane (Jerry) Sanders of Burlison; one son, Jimmy Yates of Burlison; five grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ella Wood Walker; her husbands, Chesley Walton and Marion E. Yates; one son, Charles "Steve" Walton; two brothers, Sonny Walker and Bobby Walker and one sister, Betty Faye Walker Shelton. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21 at the Covington Funeral Home chapel with interment to follow in Walton Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday, June 20 at the funeral home.
