Mary Opal Murray

Mary Opal Murray, 92, of Van Alstyne, TX formerly of Tipton Co., passed away on Thursday, February 22. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, February 27 at the Covington Funeral Home with internment to follow in Rogers Cemetery in Atoka. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday, February 26 at the funeral home. Ms. Murray was the cafeteria manager at Bartlett Elementary School before retiring. During her lifetime, was a member of the South Tipton County Assembly of God Church, the Munford Assembly of God Church and the Millington Assembly of God Church.  She is survived by one daughter, Charlotte (Arnold) Lawrence of Burlison; two sons, Greg (Linda) Murray of Van Alstyne, TX and David (Karen) Murray of Van Alstyne, TX; two brothers, Marvin Cranford of Mississippi and Boonie Cranford of Union City; and five grandchildren, Chris (Cheryl) Murray of Van Alsytine, TX, Tiffany Fort of Lonoke, AR, Kristen Murray of Van Alstyne, TX, Nathan (Laura) Murray of Dallas, TX and Allison (Dillon) Spears of Nashville and five great grandchildren, Madison Murray, Payton Murray, Parker Murray, Ben Murray and Elizabeth Murray. She was preceded in death by husband, Everett "Junior" Murray, her parents, Nullie "Boone" and Bobbie Cranford; one daughter, Janice Fort; and two brothers, Dalton Cranford and Daymon Cranford.
