Mary K. Burnett Durham, 78, of Covington, passed away on Wednesday, October 25. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 28 at the Covington Funeral Home chapel with interment to follow in R. H. Munford Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, October 27 at the funeral home. Mary was born in Mason, TN and attended school there in her early years. The family moved to Covington where she graduated in 1957 from Byars Hall High School. She worked for many years at Drs. Bierman and Whitley Optometrists. She also played the organ and piano at numerous churches during her lifetime with the last being Calvary Baptist Church. She played for many weddings and funerals and never met a stranger. She was certainly loved by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband, Olvie Oren Durham; two daughters, Carrie Lynn (Chris) Browning and Leslie Richardson (Jason) Huneke, both of Covington; one step-son, Terry (Debbie) Durham of Collierville, two brothers, Jay Burnett and Jimmy Burnett, both of Covington; three grandchildren, Beau (Katie) Browning, Mary Bailey Browning and Brady (Ashley) Browning; nine great grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; a number of step great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Peyton and Helen Lovelady Burnett and two brothers, Bill Burnett and Homer Burnett.
