Mary Frances Delashmit, 89, of Brighton, passed away on Wednesday, July 26. Known to many as “Ma”, she cared greatly for her kids and grandkids as well as the kids of others. Her home was always open to them and their friends. She always put others before herself and was known to be very patient. “Ma” was a wonderful cook and was well known for her desserts. She was the #1 fan of the St. Louis Cardinals! During her lifetime, she worked as a film developer at World Wide Art Studios and was a charter member of the Beaver Baptist Church. She is survived by five daughters, Theresa Oliver of Covington, Melissa (Dawn) Delashmit of Brighton, Christi (Vic) Billings of Covington, Cindy (Ronald) Kidd of Burlison and Mary McCage of Covington; three sons, Steve Delashmit of Lebanon, TN, Fletcher Delashmit of Covington and Greg Delashmit of Covington; her sister-in-law, Dorothy Cordle of Brighton; her adopted sister by love, Nora Faye Boswell of Burlison; 24 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Pearline Briley: her husbands, Mearion Boswell Max and Billie Hayes Delashmit; five sons, Jeff Max, Randy Max, Mark Delashmit, Ricky Delashmit and Robert Delashmit; one daughter, Diane Fleming; two sisters, Minnie Jones and Arna Mai Endsley; one brother, Welton Roach; three grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 30 at the Covington Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in Helen Crigger Cemetery in Munford. The family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. and up until service time on Sunday at the funeral home.
