Marlene Morton

Marlene Gill Morton, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at BMH – Tipton. She was a proud member of the Holly Grove Community, a graduate of Brighton High School¸ and a lifelong member and supporter of Holly Grove Presbyterian Church. She was well-known throughout Tipton County for dedicating her life as a local loan officer, first at Tri-County Federal, and then at Tipton County Bank, until she retired after 35 years. She was a friend to many, and loved by all. She leaves her son, Donnie Morton; two grandchildren, Shane Morton and Heather Morton Hollingsworth; two sisters living out of state, Ruth and Martha, and local relatives Mary Sue Morton Maughan, Helen Morton Clark, Carolyn Morton Lauderdale, and Beverly Morton Ward. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Morton, her parents, eight sisters, and three brothers. Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 3, 2022 at 1pm in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery in Covington, Tennessee. There is no visitation planned.
