Lorraine (Lori) Davisson Forsee

October 13, 1953 — October 21, 2019

Lorraine (Davisson) Forsee of Millington, TN, passed away suddenly on Monday, October 21, 2019; she was 66 years of age.  Lori was born and raised in St. Joseph, MO to a working single mother.  As a child and teen, she overcame significant physical difficulties to become a determined and enduring young woman.  These life experiences also helped her to develop perseverance.  Her extended family embraced Lori and all her physical needs, gave her love and care, made her part of their family and took her to church where she accepted Jesus Christ as her savior as a child.   At Central Bible College in Springfield, MO, she met and then married her sweetheart and husband, Gary Forsee.  Both sensed a call from God to serve in church ministry with Assemblies of God churches in Illinois, Colorado, Michigan, Iowa and Tennessee while raising two sons.  Lori and Gary also served in Christian School leadership in Tennessee, Missouri, Michigan, Wisconsin and Iowa.  They moved a lot!   Some of the most cherished and memorable work experiences for Lori included: customer service at LifeWay Christian Store in Memphis, TN, Office Receptionist at First Assembly of God - Memphis, TN, The Timothy Group in Grand Rapids, MI and as a personal assistant to her husband's ministry, wherever needed.   Lori had a passion for genealogical research even before the internet was available, as she sought details about the family of her absent father.  Countless projects were successfully conducted to organize her findings about relatives, near and far, in time and distance.  She also authored a few genealogy reports for her husband's family, extended family and friends.  She usually stayed busy researching, reviewing, editing her Ancestry records, or baking, reading, all the time planning her next travel adventure.  She was ready to go!   Lately, she gathered old personal items and labeled them as "antiques".  Her creative energy and genius revealed a knack for buying stuff for "Time Honored Treasures", her vendor's booth for antiques in Missouri.  Last Monday, October, 21, she was on her way to search for new treasures in Ripley, when the fatal car crash happened.  We will miss her smile and joyful laughter, her encouraging songs, her servant's heart, her enduring devotion to her immediate family, her birth family, her extended family, church friends - near and far, her gifts of baked goods and her trust in God.  For a small lady, she had a big heart.   She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Rev. Gary Forsee of Millington, TN; her two sons, Philip Forsee and wife Heather of Ozark, MO and Ben Forsee of Easton, PA; her much loved granddaughter, Collins Forsee; her brother, Gary Heater and wife Stephanie of St. Joseph, MO; her extended family, Sharon Jones and husband Chester of Oxford, AL, Sandra Lanning and husband Bill of Broken Arrow, OK; her brothers, Gary Stutzman of Portland, OR and Greg Stutzman of Minneapolis, MN, nieces, nephews, in-laws and many friends.    She was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Davisson; her maternal uncle, James Heater; a second family, Stanley and Agnes Milbourn; a brother, Stanley Milbourn, Jr., and a sister, Peggy Norris.   Lori will be remembered by friends and family at a visitation on Friday, October 25, 2019 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.  Celebration of Life services will be conducted on Saturday, October 26 at 10:30 a.m., both events being held at Covington Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery in Covington.    In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to one of the following:  Shriner's Childrens Hospital, Samaritans Purse - Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Project or a faith-based charity that directly serves the needs of the children.
