Linnie May Lord

Linnie Gay Lord, 90, of Gilt Edge and Garland, passed away on Tuesday July 27, 2021. Mrs. Lord was a retired navy wife and homemaker. She also worked as a home health aide for many years. She is survived by one daughter, Gwen Hazlerig (Al) of Covington and Germantown; two sons, Bill (Sharon) Pritchard of Morristown, TN and Keith (Tia) Lord of Gilt Edge; one brother, Bobby Gay of Charleston, SC; one sister, Brenda Roberts Garling of New Albany, MS; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernie Lord; her parents, Gilbert and Annie May Gay; five brothers, Lavon Gay, Devoe Gay, Richard Gay, Hughes Gay and Max Gay, and three sisters, Alcia Baum, Katie Lou Cates and Sarah Mullins Quinley. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 31 at the Covington Funeral Home with interment to follow in Covington Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the staff at Asbury Cove in Ripley, TN, for all their care and kindness to mom over the years. The family requests that any memorials be made to the Beaver Baptist Church on Holly Grove Road.
