Lee O’Hara, 81, of Covington, passed away on Wednesday, June 16 at his home surrounded by his family. Mr. O’Hara was a retired Marine Corps Veteran of the Vietnam War where he served as an aircraft mechanic. After retiring, he enjoyed numerous jobs including teaching at State Tech, working as a mechanic at Jerrol Hopkins Ford, factory work, security at Ole Miss and working at Wal-Mart. He was a member of the Faith Baptist Church, the American Legion, the Lions Club, the Marine Corps League and the Fireman’s Mix Bowling League. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Geraldine O’Hara; three daughters, Lisa Lee Hall of Brighton, Prudence Lynn (Jack Jennings) Jackett of Covington and Cindy Kay (Rodney) Stafford of Bartlett; three sons, Lee Thomas O’Hara, Jerry M. (Nora) O’Hara and Wayne A. O’Hara, all of Covington; 16 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Sarah Katherine O’Hara and three brothers, George O’Hara, Eddie O’Hara and Donnie O’Hara. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, June 21 at the Covington Funeral Home chapel with interment to follow in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
