Larry Jones

Larry A. Jones, Sr., 77, of Covington, passed away on Wednesday, December 21 at Methodist Hospital North after a lengthy illness. Mr. Jones was a retired salesman, having worked for G.B.& S. prior to its closing and retiring from Coulston Lumber Company. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Covington. He is survived by one son, Rodney (Mary MacDonnell) Jones of Covington; seven grandchildren, Larry A. Jones, III, Audrey Jones, Ashton Jones, Autumn Jones, Charlotte Stewart, Alyssa MacDonnell and Camden Hall and two brothers, Harry Jones (his twin brother) and Morris Jones. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mode and Orell Russell Jones; his wife, Mary Alice Jones; one son, Larry Jones, Jr. and seven siblings, Frances Simpson, Lois Simpson, Annie Lee Hawk, Barbara Carr, Evelyn Jones, Malcolm Jones and Mode Jones, Jr. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 27 at the Covington Funeral Home chapel with interment to follow in Covington Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
