Kenneth Devon Deberry, Jr., age 17, passed away on Friday, August 4th at LeBonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis, surrounded by his family. God saw that Kenneth was growing weary, and he called his angel home. “Lil Kenny” was born on December 15, 2005 to parents Angelica and Kenneth Deberry, Sr. Lil Kenny loved spending time with his family and nursing staff, surrounded by their love and attention. He had a smile that lit up the entire room. He also enjoyed watching sports, listening to music, and watching his globe lights.
To cherish his wonderful memory, he leaves his parents, Kenneth and Angelica Deberry, Sr., of Memphis; his siblings, Anthony Taylor, of Memphis, Disheka “MeMe” Deberry and Walter “Tony” Reed, of Jackson, Beverly Carlton, Alexis Jones, and Kaden and Kennedy Deberry, all of Memphis; his nephews and niece, Jaylon Taylor, Rickey Stittiams, IV, Alex Taylor, Kassidy Reed, Tyler Reed, and Jordan Carlton; his aunts and uncles, Chris Carlton, Amy Anthony, Daphne Carlton, Jimmie Lee Carlton, and Corey Bond; his grandmother, Debra Pickett, and a host of cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jimmy Gale Carlton; his great-grandmother, Elizabeth Ann Morgan; his grandfather, Johnny Bond; his grandmother, Laura Bond, and his uncle, Derrick Bond.
Funeral services for Lil Kenny will be held at 1p.m. on Friday, August 11th at Covington Funeral Home, with visitation for friends and family beginning at 10a.m. Reverend Carlton Rose and Brother Rick Laxton will officiate the service. Cremation services are under the direction of Covington Funeral Home.
