Kelly Elaine Channell Collins, 37, of Woodbury, TN, formerly of Covington, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, October 7 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was a graduate of the University of Memphis obtaining a BA with a concentration in Human Resources, was a department manager for Wal-Mart and a member of the First Baptist Church of Covington. She is survived by her husband, Josh Collins; two children, William Andrew Collins and McKenzie Reese Collins; her mother, Beth (Mike Powers) Rice; her father, Tracy (Melinda) Channell; two sisters, Ashley (Neil) Johnson and Jessica Scott; her grandparents, Joyce Rice, Jimmy and Diane Channell and Bernice (Humberto) Pedreschi; her mother in law, Darlene (John) Long; her father in law, Karl Collins; her sister in law, Michelle (Bert) Bradley; her brother in law, John (Cindy) Long; two uncles, Hal Rice and Wade Channell; two aunts, Lisa (Rick) Dickinson and Barbara (Dale) Couples; four nieces, Abbie Johnson, Hannah Scott, Haley Scott and Keegan Scott and three nephews, Sam Johnson, TJ Melendez and Filip Long. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Bill Rice. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, October 11, 2021 at the Covington Funeral Home chapel with interment to follow in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Donations may be made in Kelly’s name to the Covington Animal Rescue Effort (C.A.R.E.)
