Kathy Elaine Morton Keiter, 70, of Brighton, TN, born August 4 1953, passed from this life to be with her Lord and Savior on December 26, 2023 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-East in Memphis, surrounded by her family and many good friends.
Kathy was an active member of Gateway Baptist Church and had retired from Dunlap Assisted living where she served as director of the facility for several years. Her first job she had after moving back home from Wyoming was manager at Kountry Kitchens restaurant in Covington for many years. She loved the Lord and she loved people and if she loved you, you knew you were loved!
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Valjean Keiter of Brighton; her grandson, Jackson Hanks, that lived with her and Val, and whom she completely adored; four daughters, Angela Waterbury of Brighton, Rosie Silguero of Indiana, Tammy Barger (Darrell) and Sheila Everette, both of Alabama; one son, Robert Keiter (Joni) of Arkansas; seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren who she was so proud of; several beloved nieces, nephews, and greats that she loved very much; her brother, Billy W. Morton; her sister, Judy Morton Ridings (Jay), and her honorary sister, Traci Cornelius, all of Covington.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Opal Rose Morton, and her younger sister, Lou Ann Morton Cornelius.
A celebration of Kathy's life will be held on Saturday, January 6th, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Covington Funeral Home. Visitation for friends and family will begin one hour prior to the service time. In lieu of flowers her family requests that donations be made to The Genesis Foundation.
