J W Cooper, age 91, of Drummonds, passed away at his home on Friday, December 31, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Lepanto, Arkansas on August 6, 1930, to parents Issac and Lillian Elzey Cooper, J W was one of nine children. Mr. Cooper retired from a long career with the road department in Florida where he operated heavy equipment, and in his retirement, owned and operated Cooper’s Rocking Chair Retirement Home (ACLF accredited,) an assisted living center with his wife Juanita. J W Cooper leaves behind quite a legacy. A husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, Mr. Cooper is survived by his wife of 52 years, Juanita Jeannette Little Cooper; four children, Patricia Papageorgeon, Esther Darlene Hughes, Dorthea Rose Flores, and J W Cooper, Jr.; one daughter-in-law, Lauren Bemis Cooper; 26 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of other family members. Funeral services for Mr. Cooper will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 12 noon at the Covington Funeral Home. Visitation for friends and family will begin one hour before the service. Interment will immediately follow in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery in Covington, Tennessee. Friends are invited to City of Refuge Church, 2086 Atoka Idaville Road in Atoka for food and fellowship after the service.
