June Amanda Huffman Trotter, 88 , passed away at her home in Brighton on January 15, 2018. She was born in Brighton, TN on July 6, 1929 and was a daughter of the late William Vernon and Thelma Marshall Huffman. She was the wife of the late Billy Marvin Trotter for 58 years. She is survived by two sons, William Marvin (Cynthia) Trotter and Charles "Nev" (Tonya) Trotter of Brighton; five grandchildren, Delaine Trotter (Leslie) Johnson, Amanda Trotter (Blake) Brashier, all of Drummonds, Brittany Trotter, Chase Trotter and Sabrina Trotter, all of Brighton; five great grandchildren, Gage Johnson, Blaklyn Brashier, Molli Reese Johnson, Bo Edward Brashier, all of Drummonds and Madison June Trotter of Brighton; one brother, Jack (Betty) Huffman of Millington; two step-grandchildren, Mischell (Scott) Hill of Shelby Forest and Cristopher Broyles of Brighton; one step-great grandchild, Aidan Hatchel of Shelby Forest and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters, Charles Swayne Huffman, Sr., Marshall Coleman Huffman, Sr., William Vernon "Bud" Huffman, Jr., Peggy Ann Huffman, Jean Huffman Strong, Norma Huffman Spencer, Wilma Huffman Mills and Geraldine Huffman Rhodes. She attended Brighton schools and graduated from Erskine College in Due West, SC. She taught school in Brighton for 39 years retiring November 14, 1991. She was a life-long member of the Brighton Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church where she was a member of the Margaret Sherrill Circle. She was active in the Retired Teachers Association, the American Cancer Society and delivered Meals on Wheels for many years. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 19, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. with funeral services on Saturday, January 20 at 10 a.m., both at the Brighton Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. Interment will be in Morrison's Memorial Cemetery in Brighton. Memorials may be made to the Brighton Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church.
