Jonathan “Jonmane” Rogers, age 27, passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2022. He was born on December 22, 1994, to parents Lamar and Pat Rogers. He loved sports - playing, watching, and even in video games. Those that knew him knew that for basketball, he was rooting for the Knicks, and football had to be the Rams. Jonathan loved his family, and cherished the time he spent with them. He looked up to his big brothers so much. He was excited and eager for the career change he had recently made, going back to school at TCAT, enrolling in the Machine Tool Technology program. A loving, likeable guy, in his spare time, he enjoyed reading, cooking, being a homebody, and taking care of his two pets – a cat named Taboo, and a new kitten he was still trying to find the perfect name for. Jonathan is survived by his parents, Lamar and Pat Hartsfield Rogers; his siblings, Kristen Rogers, David Wayne Shires, Terrie Lynn (Hunter) Fleming, and Jerry Alan Shires; his girlfriend of four years, Lydia Cotnam; his grandparents, Bill and Sue Worthy, and Pam Hartsfield; his aunts and uncles, Suzanne (Steve) Shelton, Norris (Diane) Rogers, Mary (Mike) Miller, Gloria (Steve) Redden, Theresa (John) Elam, JoAnne (Mark) Coulston, Lauren Enzor, Mike (Cindy) Hartsfield, Sheila (Talmadge) Sigler, Missy (Ricky) Bradley, Jennifer (Chris) Pugh, Jerry Rogers, Shannon (David) Hill, Shay (Donna) Worthy, Shawnna (Mike) Mustgrave, Sheldron (Sandra) Worthy, and Michael Worthy, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Jerry Hartsfield, and Norris and Irene Rogers, and his uncle, Jerry Lynn Hartsfield. A remembrance service will be held on Thursday, July 14, at 6pm in the chapel of Covington Funeral Home. Visitation for family and friends will be from 4pm until service time.
