John Robert "Johnny" Mashburn

John Robert "Johnny" Mashburn, 71, of Garland, passed away on Sunday, June 19 at his home. Mr. Mashburn attended Byars Hall High School, was a lifelong carpenter, worked at Tipton Farmers CO-OP, Crop Production Services and was a member of the Garland Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Kay Mashburn; one daughter, Mandy (David) Lynch of Covington; one son, John Anthony (Leann) Mashburn of Covington; one grandson, Paxton Lynch; one sister, Betty Miller of Ripley and two brothers, Eddie Lee Mashburn of North Carolina and Mike Mashburn of Covington. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Razzie Myrtle "Sis" Mashburn. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 24 at the Covington Funeral Home chapel with interment to follow in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 23 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the Garland Baptist Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
