John David Elmore

John David "Dave" Elmore, 75, of Munford, passed away on Wednesday, March 10. Mr. Elmore was a retired U. S. Navy veteran, retired from the State of Tennessee, a former police officer with the Munford Police Dept., currently served with the Tipton County Sheriff's office, taught at the John Wilder Youth Center and was a member of the Munford Baptist Church. Mr. Elmore is survived by his wife, Paige Max Elmore; three sons, Michael Elmore, Shawn Elmore and Wesley Elmore, all of Georgia; four daughters, Kelly Elmore Leavens of Florida, Kelcey (Austin) Elmore Storie of North Carolina, Lesley (Luke) Elmore Bell of Brighton and Lindsey Elmore of Munford and one sister, Jane (Leroy) Roberts of Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Gladys Elmore and one brother, Bill Elmore. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, March 13 at the Munford Baptist Church. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the church. Interment with military honors will take place at the West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Memphis at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 29. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorials be made to the Veteran's charity of the donor's choice.
