John Elliott Boyd

John Elliott Boyd, 90, of Burlison, passed away at his home on Thursday, March 23. Mr. Boyd was a farmer, heavy equipment operator, a member of the Smyrna Baptist Church and a U. S. Army Veteran, having served in Korea. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Betty Parks Boyd; five children, Ricky Boyd of Burlison, Joseph (Stephanie) Boyd of Burlison, Glenda (Rickey) Cannon of Brighton, Nancy (Barry) Fox of Melbourne, FL and Janet (Mac) MacDonnchadh of Brighton; nine grandchildren, Matt Cannon, Keith Cannon, Patrick MacDonnchadh, Jay MacDonnchadh, Ally MacDonnchadh, Haily Kolberg, Tyler Boyd, Tiffany Carr and Dustin Armstrong and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elliott and Pauline Rogers Boyd and two brothers, Leroy Boyd and Eugene Boyd. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 26 at the Covington Funeral Home chapel with interment to follow in Shiloh Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
