John Barnett

John Barnett, age 78, of Munford, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at Methodist North Hospital in Memphis. He was a retired OTR truck driver, and a regular at the Munford Café, where he always enjoyed having breakfast.  Mr. John, when he wasn’t driving a truck, always liked being outside, either taking care of the horses, or mowing the grass.  He enjoyed singing karaoke, too. 

He leaves behind his son and daughter-in-law, John and Phyllis Barnett; his son, Lance Barnett; his sister, Martha Hallman; his grandchildren, Ashley (Kenny) Chapuis, Jonathan (Erin) Barnett, Belinda (Sasha) Houston, Chelsea Barnett, Josh Barnett, and Lily Barnett, and six great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Violet Williams Barnett, and his siblings, Terry Barnett and Annie Summar.

Funeral services for Mr. John Barnett will be held on Monday, September 11, 2023 at 12 noon in the chapel of Covington Funeral Home, with interment to follow in Concord Cemetery in Gates, TN.  Visitation for friends and family will begin two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
